Odin’s Path
The first god or person of high esteem in every culture was a shaman. An altered state of consciousness is the pathway to connection with the unseen and allows for obtaining solutions to problems and negotiating tricky situations to the greatest good. Our shaman is Odin/Woden/Wotan. He, whose most common of his many names stems from the word for Ecstatic/Raving/Intoxicated, is responsible for many gifts to man – the mead of inspiration, and the runes we use for spell-ing among them. He rides across the heavens, entranced, on his eight-legged stallion, Sleapnir, and mushrooms sprout in their wake here on the earth below.
